SHARE-LIST PROPERTY EMBRACES EMPOWERMENT
Sibusiso Sihlophe has opened the first 100% black owned Share-List Property franchise (Ithuba lakho Investment cc trading as Share - List Empowerment Franchise) with the official launch scheduled for June/July 2009. Sbu will focus on the greater Durban area but will also attend to enquiries in other areas, during the initial stages, where practical. He has a particular passion for empowerment deals and for promoting the aims of government’s Property Incubator Programme.
The Minister of Public Works confirmed at the SAPOA Convention in Cape Town that the emphasis of the property incubator programme is to ensure that black owned and managed property are the first in line to be leased to government departments and that black valuers, estate agents and property consultants are given first priority.
Share List is well structured and positioned to maximise returns on opportunities that are being created by the D P W programme. The Share List concept promotes sharing between brokers to provide efficient service delivery. Share List circulates enquiries to all participating property brokers and this results in a speedy identification of suitable premises or clients.
Sbu has many years of experience within the property industry having received a certificate in Estate Agency in 1995, a Diploma in Auctioneering in 1997 and being appointed as an appraiser in 1998. He is also a candidate valuer and has held positions as appraiser, agent, broker, manager and owner in various property related companies. He is also involved in community facilitation on various capacity building and awareness projects.
Sbu recognised the potential of the Share-List concept to improve market efficiency and views it of particular benefit in fulfilling the aims of the Property Incubator Programme in improving access to new market participants. He shares the Franchisors passion for promoting market efficiency and access for the benefit of all.
Rob McInerney, the founder and Franchisor of Share-List Property has many years of engineering and property experience and has recently completed an MBA with a dissertation on the Industrial & Commercial Property Market in the Greater Durban Area. He will provide mentorship, guidance and assistance as required. His financial & engineering experience will also bolster the property management aspect of the business which Sbu is including in the Franchises offering.
Sbu and Rob both share a passion for South Africa and the belief that true empowerment lies in property.
